A woman in another state initially thought she was doing the right thing when she donated her kidney to her grandmother. This is usually true since patients from Illinois and elsewhere are likely placed on waiting lists for donor transplants. However, just 11 months after the kidney transplant, her grandmother died. Now, the woman has filed a lawsuit for failure to diagnose and claims that the transplant should have never occurred in the first place.
Most Illinois residents are aware that diagnosis mistakes can lead to more injuries and sometimes death. Two doctors and an orthopedic center have been faced with a lawsuit filed by one of their patients. The woman filed the suit after the doctors’ alleged failure to diagnose her with a cancerous tumor that ultimately spread to her lungs.
Even in the best of circumstances, fighting cancer is a harrowing thing. Thus, the last thing cancer victims need is for their challenge to be made even more difficult by negligence by doctors. One type of doctor error that can be very impactful on cancer victims is a diagnosis error. One important thing for individuals here in Illinois to remember is that cancer sufferers who have experienced harm due to having been exposed to such a medical mistake may be able to pursue legal action against the medical professionals responsible for the error.
