Bruce Pfaff, Michael Gill and Matthew Ports are proud members of the American Board of Trial Advocates. Please urge defeat of the proposed legislation discussed below:
"The American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) has published a comprehensive guide to conducting civil jury trials during the COVID-19 pandemic. The white paper, 'Guidance for Conducting Civil Jury Trials During the COVID-19 Pandemic,' is a legal resource to address the process of reopening courts and the many issues faced by the courts, the legal community, jurors and the public," explains a recent news release from ABOTA.
Bruce Pfaff has been named to be one of ten members of a national task force created by the American Board of Trial Advocates to help courts and litigants adapt to the limitations imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic and public health requirements. The task force is addressing how civil cases can be prepared and tried in an era of physical distancing. ABOTA is a national organization of plaintiffs and defense civil trial lawyers whose paramount goals are to preserve the civil jury trial system and to enhance professionalism and civility. Bruce was President of the Illinois Chapter of ABOTA twenty years ago and is currently a national board representative.
