Bruce R. Pfaff of Pfaff, Gill & Ports, Ltd. served as tournament chairman for his home golf club, Point O’ Woods Golf & Country Club, as it hosted the 117th Western Amateur Championship last week. The club hosted 156 of the world’s top amateur golfers who competed last Wednesday through Saturday, and Garrett Rank, 31, of Ontario, Canada prevailed 3&2 over Daniel Wetterich, 22, of Cincinnati, Ohio. The club will donate all net revenues from the event to the Evans Scholars Foundation which has provided 11,000 caddie-scholars with full tuition and housing scholarships at 20 universities, including U of I, Northwestern, Notre Dame, U Michigan, Michigan State and many others.
