Surgical negligence may leave Illinois patients needing more care

Some individuals who have suffered at the hands of medical professionals may feel at a loss as to how to handle their predicament. However, in many cases, individuals who have been the victims of surgical negligence and faced additional hardships may be able to take legal action. Medical malpractice claims could potentially help negatively affected patients seek justice.

Illinois residents may be interested in an out-of-state woman's case involving medical negligence. Reports stated that the woman had an undisclosed type of surgery on her abdomen, and after she was discharged from the hospital, an issue arose with the surgical incision. The problem was described as a leak, and it continued to worsen. As a result, the woman had to seek additional medical attention. Another surgical procedure was needed to fix the errors from the first surgery.

The woman believes that the medical center where the first procedure was carried out was negligent in their diagnosis of her injury, in their care and in training employees. As a result, she has filed a legal claim against the medical center. She is hoping to obtain compensation for damages resulting from the problem.

If Illinois residents have faced similar outcomes due to surgical negligence, they too may have legal options to consider. A medical malpractice claim could help them seek compensation for pain and suffering, medical costs and other damages permitted under law. If interested, individuals may wish to consider speaking with experienced attorneys in order to gain more insight into this legal avenue and how it could potentially help them.
