Lawsuit: negligent surgical care led to woman's death

Many individuals here in Illinois have undergone a surgery. Surgeries are used to treat a wide variety of medical conditions. When done correctly, surgical procedures can be of great benefit to patients.

However, when medical professionals or hospitals act negligently in relation to a surgery, patients can suffer great harm. Patients sometimes even die as a result of such negligence.

Thus, one hopes that all medical professionals and hospitals make sure to act properly when providing surgical care to patients. This includes following all proper procedures during surgeries and acting appropriately when giving post-surgical care. No patient should have to be subjected to surgical negligence.

Recently, a wrongful death case has arisen involving allegations of negligent surgical care.

The case involves a now-deceased young woman from Marissa who, according to her mother, underwent a surgical procedure at a hospital in St. Louis. The surgery in question was a skull surgery.

The woman's mother claims that negligence occurred in relation to the surgical care the woman received. Specifically, the woman's mother alleges that certain parts of the woman's brain were damaged during the surgery and that the woman was not given medication that she should have been following the surgery.

According to the woman's mother, this alleged negligence resulted in the woman dying. The woman was 18 at the time of her death.

A wrongful death lawsuit has been brought in a court in Illinois by the woman's mother in relation to these allegations. Two doctors and the above-mentioned hospital have been named as defendants in this lawsuit. One wonders what will happen in this case as it progresses.
