Bruce Pfaff gave a speech to the Chicago Bar Association on April 26, 2012 concerning the Legal Implications of Health Care Technology. He discussed how the lack of electronic medical records can lead to the temptation of healthcare workers to create false records or to give false testimony about the care. He also described the benefits to hospitals and doctors to have an effective electronic medical record because clear documentation of what happened when can help identify appropriate or inappropriate care, leading to better patient outcomes and fewer disputed legal claims.
In other firm news, Matthew Ports was selected to The National Trial Lawyers Top 40 Under 40 in 2012.
